Tim Tebow

It looks like Tim Tebow just got picked up by the Patriots. Back up to Tom Brady. If he didn't get playing time behind Mark Sanchez in NY it seems unlikely he'll ever take a snap behind Brady?

I admire Tebow - the religious stuff aside. He worked his tail off to get where he is, continues to set the bar for his work ethic but seems destined not to quarterback in the NFL ever again. I guess no amount of prayer or hard work can bless you with a starting quarterback's arm but I'd like to think most of us are rooting for some divine intervention to step in.

I don't know - looks to me like he knows how to throw.
It may be that his Denver years were the miracle - taking the Broncos to the playoffs his first year as a starter despite having the lowest passer rating in the NFL. I was glued to the tube that season watching him drive one comeback after another to get them to the AFC West playoffs and their first playoff victory since 2005.

I've admired the way he's handled himself all along. He seems to inspire more emotion than any other QB - people chide him for the religion thing, for his passion and enthusiasm, for taking his shirt off, for running laps after practice ends, for his looks, for his story we all know by heart, for the limelight he gets.

Well, hello Tim Tebow.
I just want to see someone who seems like a decent guy, looks that good, and works that hard win. What, you didn't think his looks and chiseled 250-pound body don't play a factor in my assessment? But under a helmet and pads, it doesn't matter - he galvanized Colorado and much of the country with his crummy but inspiring play in 2011 and like Santa Claus he had many people believing.

I'm not sure if I still believe, Timmy, but I like you and I'm rooting for you to shine again.

Side note:

Responding to reports that some of the Jets players didn't like Tebow taking his shirt off and running after practices Jim Rome had this to say "If I was Tebow I wouldn't even own any shirts."

Well said, Romey, well said.
