Small Victories

While I lapse into the occasional pity party like anyone else, more often I'm thankful for the smallest of wins on any given day and for the wins of those around me.

Win on Friday: My motorcycle starting despite idling for 2 weeks and having the spark plug almost ripped out. It was broken but intact enough to start. The idea that it wouldn't start made the joy of hearing it turn over that much more awesome.

Bigger Win: Riding it over the GG Bridge to my new digs in Marin. A 250cc does not exactly purr roaring up highway 101 but the views were spectacular on a clear and sunny day.

Win Today: My friend Andrea seeing she is a Top Ten business on Yelp.

Win Last Night: Stepping on a scale after a month of slovenly, inconsistent and stressful living and finding I don't weigh as much as I thought I would. Of course, it helps to over dramatize how out of shape and sloth-like I felt.

Small victories, people. It helps balance out the big scary stressful stuff and when taken as a whole, can show how fortunate we generally are in any given day. Congratulations to everyone on the small victories that accumulate each day whether you share them or not. Give yourself a hug.
