Thanksgives

One must truly give thanks when the stars and planets align to create an extraordinary day.

And so, as I sit typing, a glass of wine beside me, friends making dinner in the kitchen, the rest of us listening to Casino Royale in the background, I have to give the HUGEST thanks to the forces and friends that put me in Lake Tahoe this Thanksgiving season: that rolled out a 6 foot welcome mat of snow; invited me into their homes; kept the temperatures low and the powie dry; fed me unfathomable amounts of good food; got me out on my downhills the earliest I've ever been in all my time in California; put a big fat sun on a deep blue background; compelled me to buy a season pass; and in general, keep my Subaru running, my gear ready-to-go, my body mobile and my heart thankful.

Friends, snow and day one of the 2010-2011 ski season - I love you.

Now if only I could get a sponsor. Rossignol, look how good we go together!

They would have a true avid skier promoting their equipment -I'd say Olympic type skier - you're beautiful my friend and don't need to be next to a ski to prove it.
