A Momentary Football Thought
You're a million dollar quarterback in the National Football League. You maneuvered well your rookie year, side-stepping a blitz from San Diego so you could sign with the New York Giants. You got the money, the vested owners, the support system, the endorsements with your ad-savvy bro, even the Superbowl ring. Yes, I'll give you props for that. But let's reflect on the basics shall we?
You get paid to toss the ball. You get paid to heave the ball, chuck the ball, Hail Mary the ball, hand off the ball, pass the ball, lateral the ball - sidearm, loft, zip, spiral, unleash, launch, propel, pitch, hurl, fling and send the ball. And when you're not putting that ball in the air or in someone's hands, you're holding on to the ball. You're holding on to it like it was your lifeline.
So Eli, how is it that you lead the team in fumbles this season? More importantly, how is it that you fumbled a ball Sunday night on national television and the game in your grasp....WITHOUT ANYONE TOUCHING YOU?

Dude. You had the down. You saw the gap. You made the right call on 4th down and nobody open. All you had to do was slide or belly flop or crumple to the ground or literally, just lay down. AND KEEP YOUR HANDS ON THE BALL until you felt the nice cushy artificial grass tickle your forearm letting you know that you'd landed safely, ball intact. My mom could've made that play.
You're killing me, Eli.
