The Birthday Week

It was a glorious, indulgent, well-traveled week of celebration. To everyone who participated along the way, and to those who sent birthday wishes, thank you for your presence in my life, for your friendship and for your understanding. The magic word ahead for my new year is...wait for it....patience. I endeavor to be more patient. Those of you that know the "ski side" of my personality may be curious to see how I fare. We have to set goals, right?

So from the mountains of Tahoe, to the barstools of the Hi Dive in San Francisco and down the coast to Santa Cruz for the Big Kahuna race, herewith are a few pictures from my birthday week.

The hike from Sugarbowl to Squaw Valley with Brian.

Watching the NY Giants take the season opener from the Redskins at the Hi Dive and being accosted by Smirnoff boys pitching new vodka. It was a "coming out" party for a new flavor.

Seeing the surfers out at Pleasure Point and wondering why we came to do a triathlon and not surf?

And finally, the card Houston made for me at work - a magazine cover dedicated to moi. You'd think he'd have photoshopped my legs down a little slimmer as a birthday gift.
