Ironman Countdown for some. For others, hello Project Runway!
Here's to the group of SF triathletes we bid goodbye to on Saturday night at a good luck soiree hosted by the multi-talented Fasudhani family at Khan Toke Thai House.
I feel privileged to know so many people who dedicate themselves to such amazing athletic challenges like Ironmans and endurance running and cyclocross championships and STPs and Death Rides. As you can see, the best part of it all is being able to share it with friends, whether suffering in training, eating together afterwards, telling stories about coaches or trading advice - though it's an individual sport it seems, at times, to represent the best of what being part of a team - the bigger picture - is all about.
All the best to everyone going to Idaho! Race strong and hard to the best of your body's ability on that day. As Ann Trason, an ultrarunner once said, "It hurts to a point, and then it doesn't get any worse." So there's that....:)
BTW, just to be official on a blog, happy engagement you two.
