Smoothies

Smoothies are the perfect food. Healthy, quick, non-specific. Unless you don't understand the science - cough - liquid vs soft stuff vs hard stuff - behind the consistency you want for your smoothie, it's pretty much an open book to dump whatever you have into that Magic Bullet or Ninja 5000 turbo death blender and voila.

That being said, why are people like - oh, you put THAT in your smoothie? I never thought of that. Does that really work? Don't over think the smoothie, people. It's the liberal arts of food - general knowledge, nothing with a specific focus. It's a broad understanding of combining stuff you like to make into something you'll consume in a blended format. It's an avocado, fruit, nut butter, beets, oils, chia seeds, coffee, coconut milk or water. It's kale, spinach, broccoli, or any veggie just about to turn. It's nuts and seeds and protein powder and superfoods. It's dandelions and pumpkin. It's any green, brown, blue, grey, yellow, orange, pink edible item you can find that fits into your supersonic earthquake-magnitude Vitamix.

It's breakfast, lunch, dinner, a snack, and dessert. It's all the foods about to go bad in your fridge that you toss in the freezer to avoid throwing away. So rifle through your kitchen today, throw a bunch of stuff in a blender and go out in the world feeling a little smugger for having assembled a perfectly unique, quite possibly unpalatable, but fully your own, smoothie.

Today's smoothie:

Chia seeds
Flax seeds
Almond butter
Avocado
Spinach
Blueberries
Monster chocolate protein
Superfoods supergreen
Flax oil

Boom. Smoothie baller.
