How to give change: 101

How to give change to a customer following a monetary transaction.

Put the coins in the hand first.
Then the dollars.
Then the receipt.

How many times do you have to watch coins roll out of someone's hand because they're fisting a couple of dollar bills with the coins skidding around on top of them trying to decide between shoving the whole wad into their purse or working their way around the loose change to at least tuck the bills into a wallet with some modicum of finesse.

Coins first, dollars second. Coins first, dollars second.

I've worked in retail and food service and it takes but an inkling of an intelligent thought to find a better way to do things once in awhile. This is that time. Rise to the occasion, people.
