Mahalo

Came across this video on a fellow paddler's blog and wanted to share - it embodies so much of what I value about the people I've met in the outrigger community and in particular through SFOCC. Some of my very favorite people are represented here; including those who've embraced me from the get go, offering guidance and friendship. And yes, who continue to believe that I'll have my day on an OC1 when the light switch flips and I convert with zealous passion to the faith of the 1-man. Watching this video, I do find myself romanticizing the idea of being able to go out and surf. Seems like a start.

SFOCC heads to Monterey for the Memorial Day Hoe Wa’a, hosted by the Ke Kai O’Uhane Outrigger Canoe Club this weekend. With novice men/women and open men/women competing it will be a long and exciting day. Good luck to everyone! E hele kākou!
