The last hurrah?

I'm not sure, it's hard to even fathom, but April 11th might possibly have been my last day on the snow. It seems early but you know, life is calling. Warm temps have me thinking of trail running with my Endurables again or paddling out on the bay. Or trying my luck back on a mountain bike or surfboard.

But if that's the case, it was a pretty good last hurrah in Tahoe. 2 big days on XC skis at Royal Gorge and Tahoe Donner with great conditions, a freebie 1/4 of a day to finish Saturday running downhill laps at Alpine Meadows, and dinner with friends to celebrate their new home.

2009-2010, you were a pretty excellent winter!

From new friends to old, XC to downhill, in snowstorms and blue skies, over beers and...well, more beers, on snowshoes and sleds, from Squaw to Kirkwood, in hot tubs and sleeping bags, you turned out a fine season. I miss you already...

Good night moon, good night skis, good night peeing in the trees.
Good night moguls, good night steeps, good night freshies soft and deep.
