Go Giants

Hellooooo January! It's good to be back in the saddle of routine again. Exercise, work, cook, eat, socialize, sleep or some combination of that. It's also that magical time of year when football seems to be on around the clock. Exciting times ahead as we move into the NFL divisional playoffs this weekend. Let's look at the match-ups:

In the AFC, Baltimore vs Tennessee and San Diego vs Pittsburgh -

I don't know much about the Ravens or the Titans but it's nice to see Kerry Collins's career resurrected after years of suck. Here's an interesting twist - Collins QB'd the Giants to the Superbowl in 2000 where they lost to...the Ravens. Of course, it's worth noting (not really) that the Giants beat the Ravens in the regular season this year.

As for you San Diego, give me more Darren Sproles! That is one fun dude to watch. A 5'6" phenom in last week's win over the Colts, watching him run is like watching water rushing over rocks - fast, slippery and uncontained. 328 total yards on the day. Boo ya!

And in the NFC, Arizona vs St. Carolina and New York vs Philadelphia –

Kurt Warner and company travel back east to meet the Panthers while the dreamy Matt Leinart contemplates his own Bromance show in the off-season. I'd like to see AZ advance after so many dismal years, but Panthers at home could be tough. Although home field hasn't meant much thus far in the playoffs. If God is with Kurt, Cardinals win.

And finally, it's a classic NFC East matchup - the Giants vs the Eagles. Hard-hitting football at it's best. Right now Philadelphia looks eerily similar to the 2007 Giants at this time last year. They're peaking, coming back from the verge of collapsing, and dominating the competition. Stop Westbrook. Control McNabb. No turnovers. Go Giants!

Sammeeeee! So it's true, you really bagged on running with us tomorrow cause you are watching sports. Well there's a time for everything. Good for you, you do enough already anyway. We'll just go plod around the island talking about you. Happy that the Cardinals won over the Panthers. After Javelina there is a little special place in my heart for Arizona.

Anyway yeah, now I can plan the Spring season now that I know I'm running Miwok. Definitely can't do Skyline to the Sea because it's the weekend after the Mt. Diablo 50 and the weekend before Miwok 100k but I think I' will be running support for you and Jess that day if you guys are still running. We down for Ohlone?
