Our Warmup is Your Workout

This is Peninsula Crossfit.

The place where my friend Yariv and I disappear a few times a week transforming ourselves into sweaty, exhausted - but increasingly strong - heaps within the space of an hour.



When I first came across a Crossfit website and saw images like this I thought how am I ever going to do a pullup and how are those girls lifting all that weight?

Then I learned 2 things - 1) some of those giant, Flintstones-sized plates run as light as 2.5 kilos and 2) I've become the girl that can do a pullup (sort of) and lift all that weight.

I've heard great things. Baby steps for me though. I just plunked down some change for some training sessions from a trainer in my gym to get me off the machines and to exercises with free weights. Exercises with Bozu balls and all that. It's kicking my butt right now. I'm so used to just sitting on a machine and flexing one muscle.
